We Love God

Mark 12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. (HCSB)

When Jesus was asked what the greatest command was, He first replied with focusing all attention on the giver of commands. Oddly enough He didn’t say ‘listen to God’ or ‘do what God says’. Jesus said, Love Him. When we set our minds to love someone we begin to desire to hear them talk and we love their words. True love brings us close to others and in time we become more like them.

First and foremost our Journey must be about Loving our heavenly Father. Love Him enough to follow Him anywhere, do whatever He says and be passionate to put all of our strength to use properly for Him. When you love someone passionately it is easier to be like them, following rules blindly gets old fast!

Journey must be about expectantly watching for God to show up and praising Him for His presence, direction and blessing. We love God and want to be like our Savior.

3 John 11
Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. (HCSB)

When we see God and choose to love Him, we are changed forever. Now someone may ask… “The Bible says we can’t see God”.

Exodus 33:20
But He answered, “You cannot see My face, for no one can see Me and live.” (HCSB)

Yes, that’s why God sent His Son, Jesus into this world. Because Jesus is God.

John 14:9
Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? (HCSB)

Accepting Jesus as Lord and savior for the forgiveness of our sins means we can be in the presence of a great and holy God.

Is He in your life today?
Are you a believer, but just following rules?

Or

Do you wake up everyday watching for God to be at work in your life?
Do you want to fall in love with the great God of heaven?

Let me suggest what Jesus suggested to the Pharisees. Love God, put Him first and seek Him with all of your heart, soul, mind and body. If you say ‘how’. I’d suggest reading the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke or John and getting to know Jesus. Let Jesus forgive you, teach you and guide you to be like Him.

1 John 2:6
The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as Jesus walked. (HCSB)

To remain in love with God, we must strive to walk as Jesus walked. Sounds like the kind of character and leadership we need to take a Journey with our God.

Let’s GO!
